Standards for demonstrating compliance with the EMC directive are either classified as Product or Generic Standards. Where a Product Standard exists, this should be used in preference to a Generic Standard.
Both Product and Generic Standards refer to Basic Standards that define the characteristics of the phenomenon and describe the test equipment and set-up to be used. Basic Standards are not listed in the Official Journal of the European Communities (OJEC), but are listed here for completeness.

Standards that have not been published in the OJEC are indicated with an asterisk (*). Presently, if you wish to apply these standards, it will be necessary to create a Technical Construction File (TCF) and submit it to a Competent Body for assessment.

Use the tables on this page to identify the test equipment that is appropriate to the standard that you wish to apply.
Further product information on this web-site can be accessed by selecting the information icon ().

If the standard that you wish to test to is not listed, then please contact us for guidance.
